The Cobra Net System for GRASS or SAND

The Cobra Volleyball System uses no guy wires. It is a self-supporting portable volleyball system. No guy wires means LESS INJURIES!

The Cobra sets up and stays up on sand and grass by using a patented ground anchoring system. The anchors are driven into the sand or grass, the poles (standards) are placed over the anchors, and the net is tightened from pole to pole.

Approximate setup time: less than 10 minutes!

The Cobra Net System is ranked as the best outdoor portable net system on the market. Read the product review by Michael Bertz.

Each Cobra Net System includes:

Item 1: Adjustable poles (standards) made from high-strength alloy.
Item 2: Net side tensioners (4 bungee cords)
Item 3: Regulation size net
Item 4: Ground anchors approximately 3' in length

Item 5: Boundary line with metal stakes for grass and tent stakes for sand
Item 6: Carrying bag
Not shown: Pole pads, net tensioning hardware, ground anchor protective cap (placed on top of ground anchor when driving into the ground), ground anchor alignment plate, and ground anchor washers

Set-up Instructions:

  1. Lay ground anchor alignment plate on the ground
  2. Insert the 3' ground anchor into the alignment plate
  3. Important! Put the ground anchor protective cap on top of the ground anchor BEFORE you drive the stake into the ground in the NEXT step.
  4. Hold the alignment plate in place with your foot, then drive in a ground anchor with its protective cap using a 6# sledge hammer.
The required depth the ground anchor needs go will be dependent on the density of the ground. If the ground is hard, half-way should suffice. If the ground is soft, you'll need to leave approximately 8 - 12" above the ground.
  5. Remove the ground anchor alignment plate
  6. Place ground anchor washer on the 3' ground anchor
  7. Insert the pole (standard) over the ground anchor. Use the standard that has an eyehook, not the one with the pulley/tensioner on it.
  8. Attach the net by clipping the eyehook, then adjust height to mens, womens, or youth with bolt/butterfly washer
  9. Stretch the net over to other side to determine placement of other ground anchor. Mark this location.
  10. Repeat steps 1 - 6
  11. Insert the standard with the pulley/tensioning system over the ground anchor
  12. Insert end of net (rope) into the pulley/tensioning system, then adjust height to mens, womens, or youth with bolt/butterfly washer.
  13. Pull on rope to tension net to the required height.
  14. Attach the 2 bungee cords at the top and 2 bungee cords at the bottom for further tension of net
  15. Adjust net tension as required with pulley/tensioning system and the 4 bungees.
  16. You're done!
  17. To remove ground anchors when you're done, just hit the anchor all around with the 6# sledge
