CALIFORNIA INTERSCHOLASTIC FEDERATION (CIF) RULINGS AND ELIGIBILITY TO COMPETE: - The following CIF rule interpretation (or verbage similar to) applies to:
- CIF Southern Section
- CIF San Diego Section
- CIF Los Angeles City Section
- RULE 600 - COMPETITION ON AN OUTSIDE TEAM - A student on a high school team becomes ineligible if the student competes in a contest on an "outside" team in the same sport, during the student's high school season of sport.
- QUESTION: Can a member of a CIF volleyball team participate in organized "two-person" competitions while in season?
- ANSWER: YES they can participate.
Volleyball players participating in organized "two-person" competitions during their season ARE NOT in violation of Rule 600.
- Per CIF Central Section: You ARE NOT allowed to participate in any contests/tournaments if you are in season.
AVPNEXT NATIONAL RATING SYSTEM: - Players will be rated by AVPNext's National Rating System.
- Each age division has 2 tournaments for accumulating "HP" Points.
SCVA (USA VOLLEYBALL) AND AVPNEXT MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION: - All participants must have a 2006 USA Volleyball and AVPNext membership.
SCVA (USA Volleyball) Membership - If you're currently playing club, you already have a current USA Volleyball membership.
- 2006 USA Volleyball beach membership is $10.

- If mailing in your tournament registration, please include a completed SCVA Membership Application.
- We will have SCVA and AVPNext membership applications at the tournament too.
TOURNAMENT INFORMATION: - 2006 USA Volleyball Beach Rules: "Short court," antennae, rally score, etc.
- Tournament ball: Wilson AVP Official Game Ball
- Tournament Format:
- Pool play with 4 teams per pool
- Each age division will be limited to 4 pools, or a maximum of 16 teams. (Depending on the turn-out, we may increase to 5 pools, or maximum of 20 teams.)
- Top two teams of each pool progress to single-elimination playoffs (in this order):
1) Games won
2) Head-to-head
3) Point differential - 3rd place teams of pool play must stay to officiate the first round of playoffs
- Teams not continuing in playoffs must stay to officiate one match (If you leave without completing your officiating duties you will not be able to play again.)
- All tournaments begin at 10:15 a.m.
"TOURNAMENT CHECK-IN PROCEDURE":
- Check-in time is from 9:15 - 9:45 a.m. (If you're late for check-in, you forfeit.)
- If you already have your USA Volleyball Membership (SCVA) card, please bring it with you.
- Please bring your proof of AVPNext Membership that was provided when you completed the Online AVPNext Membership Registration.
AGE DIVISIONS: Note: Anyone can "play up" in their age division. Example: a 12 year old can play in a 14's, 16's, or 18's tournament. This gives players the opportunity to maintain their "HP" points if they miss a tournament in their age division, and provides players the opportunity to earn more "HP" points. - 18 and under: Players who were born on or after January 1, 1988 or Players who were born on or after January 1, 1987 and a high school student during some part of the current academic year
- 16 and under: Players who were born on or after January 1, 1990
- 14 and under: Players who were born on or after January 1, 1992
- 12 and under: Players who were born on or after January 1, 1994

- Sunday, March 19th: Regional HP Beach Clinic
- Saturday, April 1: Boy's 12's and 14's
- Sunday, April 2: Boy's 16's and 18's AND Girl's 18's
- Saturday, April 8: Boy's 12's, 16's, and 18's
- Saturday, April 22: Regional HP Beach Clinic
- Saturday, June 3: Girl's 12's and 14's
- Saturday, June 10: Girl's 12's, 16's, and 18's
- Saturday, July 1: Boy's 14's AND Girl's 14's and 16's
- Sunday, August 27: Girl's 12's and 14's
- Saturday, September 9: Girl's 12's and 14's AND Boy's 12, 14, 16, and 18

TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION AND FEES: - Submit only ONE tournament registration for a team.
- Registration deadline is the Thursday at 12 noon before each tournament
- Tournament registration is on a first come, first serve basis
- All tournaments cost $50 per team
- We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. Billing will appear on your statement as "Volleyball"
